WATER MIST

systems

WATER MIST

Can be automatic and manually operated. The system may or may not be pressurized.

Water mist is generated by means of high-pressure generators and special nozzles. The pressure generated is from 60 to 140 bar. The pressure generated depends on the hazard class of the building / room to be protected. Microscopic water droplets form in the formation of water mist, which absorb the energy of combustion. This allows to reduce the level of heat radiation. At the moment of heat absorption, water becomes vapor at the rate of explosion, increasing its volume by 1680 times. As the volume increases, the steam pushes the air out of the combustion furnace.

The main extinguishing effect is based on the cooling of the combustion gases. The auxiliary effect is the expulsion of oxygen from the combustion furnace   by changing the water status.

The water mist extinguishing system requires significantly less water than a conventional sprinkler. Thus, the pipes to be installed are significantly smaller in diameter. Stainless steel or copper pipes are used. The range of the nozzles is longer than with a conventional sprinkler.

Water mist systems are very effective in protecting tunnels, - underground facilities, - museums and archives, - ships and engine rooms, - conveyor belts and cable ducts, - computer and server rooms and other electronic equipment.
