Firefly offers complete solutions protecting everything from individual machines, filters and silos to complete processing lines. Each Firefly system consists of detectors, extinguishing equipment and control units. Firefly’s solutions use a wide range of detectors to detect potential sources of combustion with very high accuracy in different types of industrial processes.
Each system is tailor-made for the specific requirements of the application. In installations where water is unsuitable for the process, alternative extinguishing methods are used, such as inert gas or mechanical separation.
All systems are connected to Firefly’s control platform EXIMIO™. The user interacts with the system via the user friendly IntuVision™ operator interface.

Firefly TrueDetect™ technology identifies heat sources with extremely high accuracy, enabling the system to target hot particles before a fire can start and prevents serious damage through rapid intervention.
Sparks visible to the human eye have a temperature of at least 700°C. But many materials catch fire at a much lower temperature.
Firefly Spark Detection System spots hot particles moving at high speed in the process and extinguishes them before a fire can develop.
Firefly’s Quick Suppression System uses flame detectors to provide local protection for high risk areas and critical machinery, responding rapidly with a highly effective water mist system at the first signs of fire.

Prediction
Prediction is about being one step ahead. The idea with Firefly’s Intelligent prediction technology is to identify a problem, in a machine or a process part, even before ignition sources have been generated or before the risk has arisen and give information to enable preventive measures and avoid failure.
Prevention
Don’t fight fires – stop them arising in the first place. The idea with Firefly’s prevention technology is to detect and extinguish ignition sources, within milliseconds, before the fire has started. Firefly’s unique TrueDetect™ technology enables detection of all type of ignition sources such as hot friction particles, sparks and flames.
Protection
Once a fire starts, damages and costs caused by the fire will increase exponentially every second. The quicker a fire can be detected and suppressed, the less disruptive the incident will be. The aim with Firefly’s Protection Technology is to detect and suppress fires quickly enough to avoid damages and avoid costly down-time of the machine or the process. In the best case scenario, you will never notice you had an incident at all.
Mitigation
The Atex dust explosion methodology is structured in three steps. 1. Avoid formation of explosive atmospheres. 2. Minimize the risk for ignition 3. Mitigate the effects from an explosion. Today, Firefly have the technology to help you in all steps. Firefly’s new range of passive explosion protection products ‘EXsolvo’ will efficiently mitigate the effects of a dust explosion and keep your personnel safe.
Fire prevention platform
EXIMIO™ is a distributed control system that provides an overview of all Firefly system components in one easy-to-use interface – spark detectors, flame detectors, gas detectors, temperature sensors and much more. The system can be controlled remotely, enabling operation from a desktop computer or an overriding control system.
